About Me

Filed under: — Marty Duren @ 2:34 pm

ie:missional is the blog of Marty Duren, Lead Pastor of the New Bethany Baptist Church in Buford, GA. This is my second blog, the first being SBC Outpost, a blog that delved into the issues of the Southern Baptist Convention.  I stopped blogging there in June 2007 choosing to move my emphasis from denominational politics to missional living and missional churches.

At this writing I am 43 years old, though that is subject to change, am married to a wonderful woman, Sonya, have three great children (Beth, who is to marry in January of ’08, Timothy and Abigail), two cats (Scully and Ginger) and one dog (Amos).  I enjoy reading, hiking, being a husband and dad, and getting to know God better.

  2. Marty,
You have violated a confidence that was bestowed upon you by using my real name in an online blog. The confidence was apparently misplaced. Please don’t apologize (especially online – I feel the need to clarify this for you). Just please stop doing it. If possible, please ask the blogmaster privately to remove your post which uses my name.

  3. I will do so immediately. I thought your name was used there before and since I had used it once before with no negative response, I did not know it was an issue. My bad; it will not happen again.

    Thanks for the clarification.
